Tang-su-yuk

Picture
A common appetizer in a "Chinese" restaurant in Korea. Made of beef or pork strips drenched  in lightly flavored flour then fried 2 times for the crisp.
A sweet and sour sauce will then be poured and garnished with some sweet peppers and sliced cucumber.
Nice but heavy starter.

Buldak

Picture
Korean version of my favorite Buffalo chicken. Chicken legs are fried then covered with spicy sauce and sprinkled with toasted sesame seeds.
Great partner for beer or Sodju.
Btw, the name Buldak came from "bul" which means fire, and "dakk" which is korean word for chicken.

Now you know why people say duck tastes like chicken....hehehe

Dak-do-ri-tang

Picture
Braised chicken cooked with korean spices and "Kochujang". For me this is an amazing way to cook a chicken, which I will definitely do when I go home to Philippines.

We usually eat this for lunch during winter fishing. Whoever catch a gold trout fish will have a free lunch as price.

Well, you assumed it right...I always pay! hahaha

Sam-gye-tang

Picture
A whole chicken stuffed with rice and ginseng root, then boiled for hours until the meat almost melts in your mouth when you eat it.
Samgyetang is known for foreigners as Ginseng chicken...

Jjampong

Another "Chinese" food which you can only buy in Korea. Its a noodle dish with soup base made from seafoods like clams, shrimp, octopus/squid and oyster.
A very tasty yet very spicy soup...

This can be one of the spiciest food you can eat in Korea.
